Suspect Wanted for Credit Card Fraud and Identity Theft

 San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Economic Crimes Unit are asking for assistance from the public to help identify and locate an unknown male suspect who is responsible for credit card fraud and identity theft.

On June 9, 2019, an unknown male suspect went into the Verizon store located at 3505 Sports Arena Boulevard, in San Diego. The suspect used a fraudulent ID card, which depicted a victim’s real information and was able to access the victim’s Verizon account. The suspect added two new Apple iPhone X’s with a total value of $2,500 to the victim’s account. The same suspect then went to the Best Buy located at 5151 Mission Center Road, in San Diego, using a fraudulent ID card and was able to access the victim’s Best Buy credit card account. The suspect purchased an Apple MacBook computer valued at $3,000. There was an additional fraudulent charge to the victim’s bank account of $500. The total amount of the fraudulent charges was $6,000

The victim is unaware of how their personal and financial information was compromised and how the suspect was able to obtain it. The victim was in possession of their ID and credit cards when these fraudulent charges occurred. 

Suspect’s Description: 

The suspect is described as a White male, mid 20’s to mid 30’s, heavy set, with short dark colored hair, beard, and wears eyeglasses.
