Unknown Suspects Wanted for Adult Book Bandit Robbery Series

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Robbery Unit are asking for assistance from the public to help identify and locate unknown suspects wanted in connection with the adult book bandit robbery series. adult book bandit

Detectives said between March 16, 2013 and September 25, 2013, five commercial robberies have occurred at three different adult book stores.  Detectives believe all five robberies are related. In all five cases, the suspects usually enter the store armed with a handgun and a knife.  The suspect with the gun approaches the cashier and demands money from the register and the safe.  The suspect with the knife robs the customers of their cell phones and wallets. Both suspects leave the scene on foot; they have been seen getting into a waiting vehicle parked nearby.

               2)   3/20/13, 9:35 p.m., Adult Emporium, 5101 Convoy Street.

               3)   4/13/13, 2:15 a.m., Mercury Books, 7435 Clairemont Mesa Bl.

               4)   4/14/13, 4:05 a.m., Adult Depot, 3487 Kurtz Street #A.

               5)   9/25/13, 4:38 a.m., Mercury Books, 7435 Clairemont Mesa Bl.

 

Suspect #1: Black male, 20’s, approximately 5’8-6’ tall, thin build.

Suspect #2: Unknown race male, 20’s, approximately 5’8-6’ tall, thin build.

Suspect Vehicle: Silver 4-door sedan, similar to a Honda Accord, tinted windows with a full spoiler on the trunk.

Anyone with information on the identity or location of the suspects is asked to call the SDPD Robbery Unit at (619) 531-2299 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
