San Diego County Crime Stoppers and the San Diego Police Department Homicide Unit continue to look for leads on the twenty-one year anniversary of the unsolved murder of Jackson Jones.

On April 27, 1992 at approximately 12:15 a.m., Mr. Jones, a Yellow Cab taxi driver, was dispatched for a fare in the 4500 block of 60th Street in the El Cerrito community of San Diego, California. Approximately 30 minutes later, a citizen notified police of a driver of a taxi cab slumped over the steering wheel of his cab in the 4100 block of Colts Way, which is approximately .8 miles from the location where Mr. Jones was dispatched. Officers responded to this location and found Mr. Jones deceased having been shot in the head. It is believed Mr. Jones was shot during a robbery.
