WANTED: Suspect Responsible for Theft, Burglary and Fraud

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Station are asking for the public's help to locate an unknown suspect wanted in connection with theft, burglary, and fraud. 

On April 1, 2018, between 12:00 – 1:45 p.m., an unknown suspect stole a checkbook from the glovebox of a vehicle that was parked on the 2100 block of Merlyn Place in unincorporated El Cajon. At about 2:00 p.m., the suspect, using someone else’s identification card, attempted to cash one of the stolen checks at the Money Tree, located at 303 North 2nd Street in the City of El Cajon. Money Tree contacted the victim, who confirmed the check was fraudulent. Money Tree refused to cash the check and the suspect left in a Burgundy, four-door, Toyota Avalon.

Description of Suspect:

The suspect is described as a White male between 25 to 35-years-old with short, brown hair.  He stands about 5’7” tall and weighs approximately 165 lbs.  The suspect was last seen wearing sunglasses, a white shirt, black shorts, and white shoes.

WANTED: Suspects Responsible for Burglaries and Identity Theft

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Station are asking for the public's help to locate two unknown suspects wanted in connection with burglary and identity theft. 

Sometime between 9:00 p.m. on February 3, 2018 and 3:30 a.m. on February 4, 2018, unknown suspects  broken into a car that was parked on the 9000 block of Old Ridge Road in Spring Valley. The suspects stole a purse that was inside of the vehicle.  

On February 4, 2018 at about 4:00 a.m. an unknown male suspect charged $47.47 on one of the stolen credit cards at the Chevron gas station, located at 815 Lake Murray Boulevard in San Diego.  He was seen driving a black sedan.  An hour later, an unknown female used an additional stolen credit card from the same victim to make an unauthorized purchase of about $440.00 at the Walgreens located at 215 North 2nd Street in El Cajon. She was last seen driving a dark colored SUV.

Descriptions of Suspects:

Suspect #1 is described as a White male with a beard, between 25 to 30 –years-old. He stands about 5’8” tall and weighs approximately 130-150 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black jacket, black shirt, black pants, and white shoes.

Suspect #2 is described as a White female between 18 to 25-years-old. She stands about 5’3” tall and weighs 100-125 lbs. She was last seen wearing a black sweater, blue jeans, and white shoes.

Unknown Suspects Wanted for Check Fraud and Commercial Burglary Series

Up to $1,000 Reward Offered  

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the Carlsbad Police Department’s Financial Crimes Unit are asking for assistance from the public to help identify and locate two unknown female suspects wanted for a series of check fraud and commercial burglary cases. 

On 1/10/18, two unknown female suspects targeted victims in various Bank of America locations in Carlsbad. The suspects were wearing medical scrubs. One female suspect was the driver and the other female suspect would contact the victim in the parking lot, asking the victim to cash a check usually for the amount of $4,900. The suspect then promises to pay the victim $40.00 for their help. After a few days, the victim learns that the checks were returned as fraudulent checks. Investigators determined that both suspects have been targeting victims at various Bank of America locations throughout San Diego County. The total estimated loss was determined to be $44,000 in this series.

Fashion Valley Mall Commercial Burglary Update

Up to a $1,000 Reward Offered 

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Western Division are asking for assistance from the public to help identify and locate multiple suspects wanted for burglarizing the Hermes De Paris store at the Fashion Valley Mall. 

On January 21, 2018, at 4:18 a.m., three vehicles arrived at the north entrance of the Fashion Valley Mall, located at 7007 Friars Road, in San Diego.  A total of ten suspects got out of the vehicles and then forced entry into the Hermes De Paris store by using a pry bar to open the front door.  

The suspects were inside the store for approximately two minutes and stole various items including purses, jewelry, and clothing.  The total loss is estimated at over
$500,000.  These suspects may be related to a statewide series were high-end department stores are being burglarized.    

Description of Suspects: 

All of the suspects were wearing hooded sweatshirts and gloves.  

Suspects’ Vehicles: 

The suspects used three vehicles and each one had paper plates.  The vehicles are described as a white Chevy Suburban, and two blue colored sedans (possibly imports).  

Update: 

Investigators conducting follow-ups have recently recovered surveillance photos of the suspects believed to be responsible for this crime.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers is working with investigators from the San Diego Regional Fraud Task Force and asking for assistance from the public in locating Mario Chavez. Chavez is wanted in connection with a series of crimes involving the passing of counterfeit U.S. currency throughout San Diego County. Chavez targets sellers offering mobile phones for sale on sites such as “Offer Up”, “Let Go” and classified ads posted on “Craigslist”. Chavez makes contact with the seller through the app or by texting. Chavez will agree to a price and pays for the mobile device in cash. In most cases, the victim does not discover the money they received from Chavez was counterfeit until after Chavez has already left with the device. Chavez is known to use force or flee if confronted by a seller. 

Mario Kevin Chavez is a Hispanic male, 27-years-old, 6’3” tall, weighs 295 lbs., and has brown hair and brown eyes.

WANTED: Suspect Re sponsible for Grand Theft from Vehicle, and Credit Card and Identity Theft

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the Poway Sheriff’s Station are asking for the public's help to locate an unknown suspect wanted in connection with car burglary, using a stolen credit card, and identity theft. 

On January 1, 2018, at about 9:15 p.m., an unknown suspect took a backpack from a vehicle that was parked in front of a home in the 12900 block of Rios Road in Poway.  The backpack contained a wallet, an Apple laptop, and a google cell phone which was later recovered by sheriff’s deputies, in the middle of a nearby street.  

At about 11:00 p.m., two of the victim's credit cards were fraudulently used at a Circle K/Mobile gas station, located at 14863 Pomerado Road by an unknown male suspect. The suspect was driving a newer model blue Chevrolet sedan with unknown plates

Suspect Description: The suspect is described as a White adult male. He was last seen wearing glasses, a dark colored Nike polo shirt and light blue jeans.

Unknown Suspect(s) Wanted for Burglary

an Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station are asking for the public's help to identify and locate an unknown suspect or suspects wanted in connection with a residential burglary that occurred in Encinitas.  

On August 4, 2017 between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., an unknown suspect or suspects gained entry into a residence, located on the 600 block of Rancho Santa Fe Road in Encinitas, by removing a screen from an open window. The suspect(s) stole jewelry, name brand handbags and sunglasses, and clothing to include Indian saris. The estimated total loss is more than $150,000. 

The reward in this case has been increased to up to $5,000 to anyone that provides information that leads to a felony arrest.

Unknown Suspects Wanted for Burglary Series

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Northeastern and Eastern Divisions, along with investigators from the La Mesa Police Department, are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating three suspects who are wanted for a series of residential burglaries. 

On August 13, 2017, at approximately 3:30 p.m., an unknown female rang the doorbell of a residence located in the 6300 block of Glenmont Street, in the Del Cerro area of San Diego. No one answered the front door. Two unknown males broke a rear sliding glass door, entered the home, and stole several items.   

Later that same day, at 4:30 p.m., the same female rang the doorbell of a residence located in the 5700 block of Jackson Drive, in La Mesa. The female asked the homeowner if “Tony” lived there. The homeowner told the female that she had the wrong house. The homeowner left the house and returned several hours later to discover his rear sliding glass door was shattered and three bedrooms had been ransacked. The suspects stole over $7,600 worth of jewelry and miscellaneous items. 

On August 29, 2017, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the same female and two males burglarized a residence in the 13000 block of Calderon Road in the Rancho Penasquitos area of San Diego. The suspects gained entry into the house by breaking a rear sliding glass door. The suspects stole numerous high end purses totaling over $10,000 in value.   

Suspect’s Description: 

The female suspect is described as Asian, in her 20’s, thin build, wears large black frame glasses, long bright green painted fingernails, and has a tattoo on her left forearm. 

Both male suspects are described as being Black, in their 20’s, approximately 5’8” tall, and had thin builds. The suspects are seen using a black Chrysler 200 with paper plates. The suspects may also be using a four-door white Mercedes.

Unknown Suspects Wanted for Burglary and Grand Theft

Up to $1,000 Reward Offered

San Diego County Crime Stoppers along with investigators from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department’s Santee Station are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating three unknown suspects wanted for burglary and grand theft.

On October 25, 2017, three unknown Black men entered the Walmart, located at 170 Town Center Parkway in Santee, and selected 8 Visa gift cards. The men requested that each gift card be activated with $500.00.  One of the men distracted the cashier by asking for cigarettes. When the cashier left her register to get the cigarettes another suspect reached around the register and pushed a key that loaded each of the cards with the $500.00.  The third man grabbed the Walmart bag containing the gift cards and other merchandise.  All three men exited the store without paying for any of the items. The total loss was estimated at about $4,065.00. 

All three suspects were last seen leaving the store parking lot in an older model Ford Crown Victoria with no license plates.  The car had a white front left fender and purple tinted windows. 

Description of Suspects:

Suspect #1 is described as a Black male, in his 20s, and was last seen wearing a white Adidas shirt, black shorts, white socks, and sandals.

Unknown Suspect Wanted for Hot Prowl Burglary

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Central Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating an unknown male who is wanted for a residential hot prowl burglary that occurred in the Golden Hill area.

On October 31, 2017, at approximately 7:30 a.m., an adult female walked outside of her apartment located in the 1000 block of 20th Street and moved her vehicle. The female’s boyfriend was asleep inside the bedroom of the apartment. When the female walked back towards the stairs that lead to her apartment, she noticed a Hispanic male walking down the stairs.  She confronted the male and asked what he was doing. The male said he was looking for someone and walked away from her. The female then noticed the male had her boyfriend’s laptop bag strapped over his shoulder.   

The female ran into the apartment and told her boyfriend that they had just been burglarized. The boyfriend ran out of the apartment and after the suspect, but lost sight of him in 1900 block of Broadway, near the City College parking garage. The suspect stole several items from the apartment including a laptop bag, two laptops, a wallet, and an Omega watch. The total value of the items stolen was over $ 8,000.

Suspect’s Description:

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his early 20’s, thin build, wearing a black colored (possibly Armani Logo) jacket, blue jeans, and bright red tennis shoes.

Suspect Wanted for Burglary & Credit Card Fraud

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station are asking for the public's help to identify and locate an unknown suspect wanted in connection with a burglary and credit card fraud case in Encinitas.   

On October 26, 2017 between 7:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m., a suspect stole a backpack from a locked locker inside the LA Fitness located at 201 S. El Camino Real in Encinitas.  The suspect used a key inside of the backpack to unlock the victim’s vehicle, which was in the parking lot.  The suspect then stole a wallet from inside the vehicle.  

The suspect used multiple credit cards that were inside the victim’s wallet at several different retail businesses and convenience stores in the La Jolla and Midway areas of San Diego.  The stolen credit card purchases totaled more than $1,000.    

Suspect/ Vehicle Description: 

The suspect is described as a White male in his 40’s, standing 6’1” tall and weighing 185 pounds with brown hair. The suspect was wearing a white baseball cap, light blue polo style shirt, gray jeans, black Nike tennis shoes, and a light brown colored jacket (in some of the photos). 

The suspect was seen getting out of a newer model, 4-door, white colored Infinity during one of the stolen credit card transactions.

Unknown Suspect Wanted for Multiple Burglaries

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Central Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating an unknown male who is committing burglaries in condo/apartment complexes in the Cortez and Park West areas near downtown San Diego. 

On September 9, 2017, at about 2:21 a.m., an unknown male forced entry into a parking garage of a residential apartment complex located at 2665 5th Avenue, in San Diego. The suspect then forced entry into the office and stole a laptop and Amazon package and also damaged several doors. 

On several occasions between September 13, 2017 and September 22, 2017, the same suspect entered the parking garage located at the Aria condo complex, located at 1441 9th Avenue, in San Diego. The suspect went underneath the gate as vehicles would enter or exit. Once inside, the suspect forced entry into the locked bicycle room and used bolt cutters to cut the bike locks.  The suspect stole multiple bicycles during this period.   

Suspect’s Description: 

The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male, approximately 35 to 45 years old, 180 to 200 lbs. and bald. The suspect wears different clothing during the crimes, but has a distinctive faded red colored hat that appears to have the letters “BUBS” on the front and a black colored SDSU zip-up style hooded sweatshirt.

Unknown Suspect Wanted for Burglary and Credit Card Fraud

San Diego County Crime Stoppers along with investigators from the Santee Sheriff's Station are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating an unknown suspect wanted for burglary and credit card fraud. 

On May 6, 2017, a few minutes after midnight, an unknown male suspect entered the CVS store located at 9730 Mission Gorge Road in Santee and purchased several items totaling more than $500. The suspect used a credit card that had just been stolen from a secured locker inside the 24 Hour Fitness located at 9906 Mission Gorge Road in Santee.  

On June 10, 2017, between the hours of 11:10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., it is believed the same suspect forced open a secured locker inside the same 24 Hour Fitness and stole a victim’s wallet. The suspect then went to the Walgreen’s located at 9305 Mission Gorge Road in Santee and used a credit card from the wallet to purchase a $500 gift card. The suspect then attempted to use the same credit card at a nearby CVS store, but the credit card had been deactivated.  

Suspect’s Description: 

The suspect is described as a White male between 30 and 40-years-old with a medium build and dark hair. The suspect wears shorts, a t-shirt and tennis shoes or sandals. 

The suspect has been seen driving a dark colored sedan.

WANTED: Fallbrook Home Burglary

Up to $1,000 Reward Offered  

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the Fallbrook Sheriff’s Substation want your help in identifying and locating the person who broke into a home's garage and stole $15,000 worth of custom carved wooden bowls.

The incident happened overnight on July 27th at a home in the 2400 block of East Mission Road.  The burglar/s took at least 15 bowls. The artist values each bowl at around $1,000. Also stolen were two leaf blowers. The burglar/s also broke into a truck and SUV parked inside the garage and stole several items, including a GPS and garage door openers.

Unknown Suspects Wanted for Commercial Burglary

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Central Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating three unknown suspects wanted for burglarizing a business in the South Park area of San Diego. 

On July 3, 2017, at 6:45 p.m., two unknown male suspects along with an unknown female person of interest walked into the South Bark Dog Wash business located at 2037 30th Street, in San Diego. The two suspects along with a female spoke with several employees as they cased the inside of the business. The two suspects and the female did not buy anything and left. 

Later that same evening, at 10:50 p.m., the two male suspects returned to the business.  Suspect #1 (S-1) threw a rock through the front glass door and ran inside followed by Suspect # 2 (S-2). S-1 and S-2 stole approximately 46 boxes of Advantix and Comfortis flea medication, which had a total value of over $ 4,000.  Both suspects left the business and got into a waiting grey or silver colored Toyota Rav-4 being driven by an unknown third suspect.     

Both S-1 and S-2 changed their appearance including clothing before the burglary occurred. 

Suspects’ Description: 

Suspect 1 is described as a White or Hispanic male, 20 to 30-years-old, with a medium build.

Suspect 2 is described as White male, early to mid 20’s, with a thin build.

The person of interest is described as a Hispanic female, 20 to 30-years-old, with a medium build.

Burglary Up to $1,000 Reward Offered

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the Santee Sheriff’s Station are asking for the public's help to locate an unknown suspect wanted in connection with a vehicle burglary.  

On February 01, 2017, between the hours of 2:20 a.m. – 3:10 a.m., an unknown person broke the rear window of a car that was parked at the 24 Hour Fitness, located at 9909 Mission Gorge Road in Santee.  The suspect took two wallets that contained about $1,000, a new pair of Nike tennis shoes, a Galaxy S6 cell phone, and a Padres duffle bag from inside the vehicle.  

At about 3:20, a Black male was seen attempting to withdraw money from an ATM, located at 301 N. Magnolia Avenue in El Cajon using the victim’s ATM card.  

The suspect is described as a Black male between 30- 40 years-old with w muscular build.
