Mount Hope Area Homicide


$1,000 Reward Offered 

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating two suspects involved in the murder of 32-year-old Elisha Hunter. 

On December 8, 2018, at 5:10 p.m., San Diego Police Officers responded to the 700 block of 42nd Street to investigate a report of a shooting. Officers found two adult males lying on the ground, both suffering from gunshot wounds to their upper bodies. Officers provided immediate medical aid to both victims and they were transported to local hospitals. One of the victims, Elisha Hunter, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. 

San Diego Police Homicide Detectives were called to the scene and began investigating the incident. Detectives determined that both victims were on 42nd Street when suspects inside a white Chevy truck traveled down 42nd Street and fired multiple gunshots at the victims. The suspects’ vehicle fled the area before officers arrived. 

Suspects’ Description: 

The driver is described as a medium to dark complexion male. There is no description for the passenger suspect. Both suspects were inside a white Chevy Silverado extended cab (4-door) truck.

WANTED: Suspects Responsible for Vista Burglary

 San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the Vista Sheriff's Station are asking for the public's help to identify and locate two unknown female suspects wanted in connection with a burglary that occurred at a gym in the City of Vista. 

On January 7, 2019 between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., an unknown suspect cut the lock off of a locker at Planet Fitness located at 1980 University Drive. The suspect took credit cards, cash and a checkbook from the locker. A stolen credit card was used to purchase $1,000 worth of Visa gift cards at Walgreens located at 310 Sycamore Avenue. 

The suspects were seen driving to Walgreens in silver, 4-door Mercedes with no front license plate. 

Description of Suspects: 

Suspect #1 is described as a Black female adult with a heavy build. She has long hair and weighs approximately 220 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black, long sleeved shirt and camouflage leggings. 

Suspect #2 is described as a Black female adult with a medium build. She has long hair and weighs approximately 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink top with blue and white leggings. 

Description of Suspect Vehicle: The suspect vehicle is believed to be a silver, 4-door Mercedes.

Suspect Captured for Commercial Armed Robberies

San Diego County Crime Stoppers along with investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Robbery Unit captured the suspect for commercial armed robbery suspect. 

On 12/19/2018, at 10:34 a.m., a male suspect entered the Game Stop store located at 3425 Murphy Canyon Road, in San Diego. The suspect lifted up his shirt and displayed a silver colored revolver in his waistband to the clerk and demanded money from the register. The clerk complied and the suspect fled the store on foot in an unknown direction.

On 12/23/2018, at 9:23 a.m., the same suspect entered the Game Stop store located at 4403 University Avenue, in San Diego. As the suspect was walking towards the counter, an employee recognized the suspect from the robbery on 12/19 at the Murphy Canyon Road location. The employee told another employee to call security. The suspect fled the store on foot in an unknown direction. 

On 12/23/2018, at 11:22 a.m., the same suspect entered the Subway restaurant located at 8080 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., in San Diego. The suspect lifted up his shirt and simulated that he had a gun in his waistband. The suspect demanded cash from the clerk. The clerk complied and the suspect fled the store on foot in an unknown direction. 

Suspect’s Description: 

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 30 to 35-years-old, 5’7” to 5”9” tall, 180 to 200 lbs. In the first case, the suspect was wearing a white constriction hat, construction glasses, and dark blue or black bandana on his head underneath the hat, black “dickie” style pants, and black tennis shoes with white soles. 

During the second and third case, the suspect wore an Anaheim Angels baseball hat, sunglasses, dark colored shirt with black “Dickie” style pants, and grey tennis shoes. During the third case (Subway), the suspect was wearing an orange construction vest.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers along with investigators from the La Mesa Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating an unknown suspect wanted in connection with a commercial robbery of a motel located in the City of La Mesa. 

On Saturday October 20, 2018, at 9:00 p.m., the Motel 6, located at 7621 Alvarado Road in La Mesa, was robbed. The pictured male is a suspect in this case. He is described as a Black male, 18 to 25–years-old, approximately 5’7”tall and weighing 175 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black Polo brand shirt with a large white logo and blue jeans.

Wanted: Suspect for Burglaries and Theft in the City of Vista

San Diego County Crime Stoppersand investigators from the San Diego Sheriff’s Department’s Vista Station are asking for the public's help to locate an unknown suspect wanted in connection with a series of thefts, attempted burglaries, and burglaries that have occurred in Vista.

Between October 25 and November 20 of 2018, the same unknown suspect broke into, or attempted to break into, five local businesses in Vista. The suspect stole a total of about $1500 in cash, a $350 iPad, and a carved tiki stump valued at about $60.00. The suspect caused approximately $2,000 in damages to the businesses. 

 

List of the businesses targeted:

·     On 10/25/18 the suspect entered the Tabacinic Chabad Jewish Center, located at 1930 Sunset Drive, Vista, by removing a screen from the exterior window. The suspect stole cash and an iPad Touch.  

·     On 10/28/18 at 12:00 p.m., the suspect broke into and stole about $500 in cash from the Coke machines at Get Air, located at 2755 Dos Aarons Way, Vista.

·     On 10/30/18 at about 9:00 a.m., the suspect attempted to break into the Tiki Mobile Village, located at 1333 Olive Ave in Vista, by removing the bathroom window screen and two window panels next to the main office building.  The suspect also cut and removed the electrical cables to the security camera and Wi-Fi transmitter.  

·     On 11/1/18 at about midnight, the suspect forced entry into Maximum Recycling, located at 430 Olive Ave, Vista and stole approximately $1175 worth of change. 

·     On 11/05/18 at 1:10 p.m., the suspect stole an empty bank bag from Wholesale Sports Inc, located at 2755 Dos Aarons Way, Vista

·     Sometime between the 6:00 p.m. on 11/5/18 and 9:00 a.m. on 11/6/18, the suspect returned to Wholesale Sports Inc and Get Air and damaged the front doors.  

·     On 11/20/18 the suspect went back to the Tiki Mobile Village and forced the door to a utility room open and stole a wood carved tiki stump valued at about $60.00

Suspect Descriptions:

Suspect #1: 

The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male adult, standing approximately 5'8"-5'11" tall, with a thin build. He has a distinct tattoo on his left forearm. The suspect usually wears glasses and a flat billed ball cap.

 

The suspect used the same modus operandi in many of the cases. The suspect takes a tool and tries to pry open the front door of businesses or vending machines and then burglarizes the businesses or takes money from the vending machines.

Suspect Wanted for Commercial Armed Robbery

San Diego County Crime Stoppers along with investigators from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department’s Poway Station are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating an unknown suspect wanted for a commercial armed robbery at a Walmart located in Poway.  

On Saturday, November 10, 2018 at approximately 8:00 p.m., an unknown Black male approached the Customer Service counter at the Walmart, located at 13425 Community Road in Poway.  The man displayed a semi-automatic silver and black pistol in his waistband and demanded that the employee open the cash register.  The Black male suspect removed the entire cash drawer and fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.  

Suspect’s Description:

The suspect is described as a Black male between 30 to 40-years-old, standing 5’10” – 6’0” tall, unshaven, and with a medium complexion.  He was last seen wearing a blue baseball-style cap with white lettering and an image of a marlin fish on the front. It may be advertising for a charter fishing vessel. He also had on a black or dark blue long sleeve shirt, black pants, black shoes, and black Nike gloves.

Unsolved Murder of Lowry Richard “Ricky” Rivers

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the National City Police Department’s Crimes of Violence Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of 55-year-old Lowry Richard “Ricky” Rivers. 

On April 8, 2018, at approximately 4:52 a.m., National City Police Department Officers responded to the 100 block of North Highland Avenue regarding a report of gunshots heard in the area. Officers arrived on scene and found Lowry Richard “Ricky” Rivers suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics arrived on scene and transported Rivers to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Help Identify Baby Doe

San Diego County Crime Stoppers, along with investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit, are asking for the public’s help in finding out what happened to Baby Doe. 

On May 4, 2004 two hikers found skeletal remains on a hiking trail in Rancho Bernardo. Forensic testing indicates the remains are that of a 2 to 4-year-old boy probably born sometime between 1999 and 2001. Baby Doe’s features are consistent with being mostly Caucasian and is believed to have had light to medium brown hair. 

Additionally, isotopic testing indicates it is likely that Baby Doe was born on the mainland United States. During a portion of her pregnancy, Baby Doe’s mother likely resided in the Southeastern region of the United States where Baby Doe may have spent his first year of life before migrating westward toward California. 

The image above of Baby Doe was developed by a forensic artist with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The clothing items featured were found with Baby Doe.

Suspect Wanted for Commercial Armed Robberies

San Diego County Crime Stoppers along with investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Robbery Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating an unknown suspect wanted for two separate commercial armed robberies of a Chevron gas station located in the Mountain View area of San Diego. 

On Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 4:00 a.m., and Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 3:52 a.m., an unknown suspect robbed the Chevron gas station located at 3502 National Avenue, in San Diego. In both incidents, the suspect pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded they open the cash register. The suspect stole cash from the register and several packs of cigarettes in both cases. The suspect was last seen fleeing the business on foot in a northbound direction. Investigators believe the same suspect is responsible for both robberies. 

Suspect’s Description: 

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 35 to 40-years-old, 5’6” to 5’9” tall, 170 to 180 lbs., has a light complexion with acne on his face. During the June 2nd robbery, the suspect was wearing blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt. During the November 3rd robbery, the suspect was wearing blue jeans, a blue and white plaid colored long-sleeved shirt, blue bandana covering his face, and a black baseball cap.

Who Murdered Tony Hawkins?

San Diego County Crime Stoppers, along with investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit, are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of 36-year-old Tony Hawkins that occurred eleven years ago. 

On Monday, November 5th, 2007, at approximately 5:51 p.m., Tony Hawkins was shot multiple times at the Exxon Gas Station (now Valero), located at 1025 Euclid Avenue, in the Valencia Park area. Hawkins died as a result of his injuries.

Janice Macedonio is wanted by the San Diego Fugitive Task Force for a no bail felony warrant for homicide. She is wanted in the March 1, 2014 murder of Ruben Bodden, who was found dead inside his transmission repair shop on North Santa Fe Avenue in Vista. Janice was last seen in the company of her daughter who is now 7-8 years old.

Janice Macedonio has “Brooklyn” tattooed on her upper right chest.

She is known to frequent Vista, but detectives suspect she’s hiding out in Mexico.

Wanted: East Village Area Homicide Suspect

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a suspect involved in the murder of a business owner in the East Village area. 

On October 10, 2018, at approximately 3:42 p.m., the San Diego Police Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call from a customer who had entered a business in the 1000 block of G Street and found what he believed to be a deceased male. Patrol officers and San Diego Fire-Rescue personnel arrived approximately two minutes later. When the officers entered the business, they found 49-year-old Ghedeer Tony Radda down inside who had no pulse, was not breathing and had apparent trauma to his upper body. CPR was initiated, but unfortunately Radda succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 4:04 p.m. 

San Diego Police Homicide Detectives were called to the scene and are investigating the incident. Based on information developed during their investigation, 51 year-old Kevin Eugene Cartwright was identified as the male suspect. Cartwright was arrested in the City of El Cajon on October 17th and was booked into jail for the murder. 

Cartwright was accompanied by a female suspect during the incident. She is described as a light skinned female wearing a purple wig. She was wearing a dark jacket and blue jeans. Investigators are still trying to identify the female suspect.

Unknown Suspect Wanted for Sexual Assault of a Child

Up to a $1,000 Reward Offered

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego County

Sheriff’s Department’s Child Abuse Unit are asking for assistance from the public to help identify and locate the suspect responsible for sexually assaulting of a child in Lemon Grove.

On Thursday, October 18th at about 2:00 a.m. in the 7000 block of Canton Drive in

Lemon Grove, a Black male adult entered the home of a family with two children. The male was discovered inside the home by the homeowners. A family member confronted the intruder and tried to restrain him but the intruder was able to escape. The intruder assaulted one of the young children in the home prior to fleeing.

The suspect is described as a Black male, 20-25 years old, standing about 5’07” tall, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black gym pants. He may have arrived to the residence on a skateboard so he could be from the area.

Anthony Dupone is wanted by the California Department of Corrections and rehabilitation for failing to comply with the terms and conditions of his parole (no bail felony warrant).  Dupone is currently on parole due to a conviction for assault with a deadly weapon.  Dupone has previous convictions for assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, vandalism, check fraud, narcotics possession, burglary, auto theft, and multiple parole violations.  Dupone is known to frequent the North County area including Vista and Encinitas.
