Kristine Hunt

Kristine Hunt is the Program Director for San Diego County Crime Stoppers. She has been with the organization since 2017, first becoming involved after a co-worker invited her to a meeting, an experience that inspired her to join this vital community effort. Kristine served as a general board member for four years before moving to the executive board, where she served as Treasurer for two years. She now leads the organization as Program Director, continuing her dedication to public safety and community engagement. She holds a bachelor’s degree from The University of Arizona in Applied Behavioral Science.

Kristine is a Southern California native and has been in San Diego since 2001. She has four grown children, and three grandchildren. Outside of SD Crime Stoppers, Kristine works full-time for New York Life Insurance Company and enjoys camping, reading, traveling the world, and crime shows.

Tracie Arlington

Tracie Arlington, is the owner and lead instructor of Play It Safe Defense. She has her black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has been teaching self-defense courses to hundreds of thousands of children, teens & women since 2003. Tracie has appeared on Dr. Phil and the Doctor's TV as an expert on self-defense and family safety. Tracie is also a nationally certified instructor for the Women’s Self-Defense Community and co-anchor for the Women's Community Podcast. Her son helped her found the Company and is now a San Diego Detentions Deputy Sheriff.

Kim Jones

Kim Jones, President of The Kinship Fund, brings 35 years of experience managing start-ups and nonprofit organizations. An innovator and visionary, Kim has an extensive background in bringing ideas to life that change systems and collaborating with community partners to launch impactful programs. As a thought leader in trust-based philanthropy, Kim guides donors to embrace transformational partnerships that build meaningful impact, turning their giving into a catalyst for enduring change.

The Kinship Fund is a private foundation based in San Diego, CA, with a mission to build the resiliency of women and girls through the financial and capacity-building support of nonprofit organizations.

Kim served as the Executive Director of the Center for Justice & Reconciliation at Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU), setting the vision and strategy for the Center, directing Center operations, leading donor development, and serving as a Community Engagement Officer for PLNU. Before her work at the university, Kim created and led Canopy Marketing and the marketing of Sharp HealthCare’s Chula Vista Hospital and Sharp HealthPlan’s inaugural MediCal program, Sharp Advantage.

Kim is an active community volunteer who serves on the Boards of California Against Slavery and San Diego County Crime Stoppers and helps with projects at her church, Normal Heights United Methodist. She has lived in the San Diego region for more than 35 years and, with her husband Chris, raised their son (a police officer) and daughter (a special education teacher) in La Mesa. In 2017, she was named PLNU's Alumni of the Year.

Jim Emig

Jim Emig is a 27-year veteran of the San Diego Sheriff's Department.  He started his law enforcement career in January 1996 as a cadet and was assigned to the Vista Detention Facility upon completion of the law enforcement academy. 

In May of 2000, Jim was assigned to the North Coastal Patrol Station, where he worked uniformed patrol in Encinitas, Solana Beach, Del Mar, and Rancho Santa Fe.  As a deputy, he was assigned to the In-Service Training Unit, the Fallbrook Patrol Station, Santee Area Investigations, and North Coastal Area Investigations.

In January of 2015, Jim was promoted to sergeant and was assigned to the Vista Courthouse, where he supervised bailiffs and security personnel assigned to the courthouse.  In February of 2016, Jim was selected as a patrol sergeant at the Valley Center Substation, where he supervised patrol deputies covering four large casinos and several Indian reservations.  He was then selected as the Valley Center Administrative & Detective Sergeant, where he supervised detectives, crime suppression deputies and the administrative staff.  In March of 2018, Jim was transferred to the Sheriff's Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit, where he supervised felony sexual assault investigations and both physical & sexual child abuse investigations. 

In January of 2021, Jim was promoted to lieutenant and was assigned to the Sheriff's Communications Center.  He was transferred to the San Marcos Patrol Station, where he supervised the Detective Unit, the Community Oriented Policing Team, the Gang Enforcement Team and patrol operations.  Jim was then transferred to the Valley Center Station as the Station Commander.

Jim was promoted to the rank of Captain in February of 2023 and was assigned to the Major Crimes Division, which includes the Homicide Unit, the Child Abuse Unit, the Sexual Assault Unit, the Elder Abuse Unit, the SAFE Task Force, and the Financial Crimes Unit.

Jim was promoted to the rank of Commander in February of 2024.  He oversaw the Court Services Bureau, the Regional Law Enforcement Academy, the Training Unit and Sheriff's Records Division.  In February of 2025, Jim was transferred to the Law Enforcement Services Bureau where he supervises the Investigations Division. 

Jim holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from California Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo and is a graduate of the POST Supervisory Leadership Institute and the San Diego Regional Leadership Institute.
