Suspect Wanted for Fatal Hit and Run

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the vehicle and driver that fled the scene of a traffic collision leaving a pedestrian fatally injured in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego.
On Saturday, February 7, 2026, at about 2:08 a.m., a 41-year-old male was crossing the street mid-block at 1400 Garnet Avenue. A vehicle was traveling westbound on Garnet Avenue and struck the pedestrian. The vehicle fled the scene continuing eastbound on Garnet Avenue. The suspect was last seen driving north on 4500 Gresham Street.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital before succumbing to his injuries.
Suspect’s Vehicle Description:
White Mercedes SUV, possibly an GLS or GLA model, with damage to its passenger side headlight.
