Suspect Wanted for Felony Hit and Run

UP TO $1000 REWARD

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the vehicle and driver that fled the scene of a traffic collision leaving a 39-year-old male pedestrian with severe injuries in the Colina Del Sol neighborhood of San Diego.

On Saturday, August 26, 2023, at about 3:36 a.m., two male pedestrians left a business in the 4800 block of University Avenue. As they were walking in the alley between 4000 Estrella Avenue and 4000 48th Street, they were struck by a vehicle driving northbound in the alley. One of the pedestrians, a 39-year-old male, suffered a serious injury. The vehicle that hit the pedestrians did not remain at the scene. A witness described the vehicle as a gray 4-door vehicle. The unknown driver was described as a Hispanic male in his mid-20’s with an average build and average height.

Investigators were able to locate video of the suspect vehicle. That video was used for the vehicle description below. Photos are attached from the video for reference.

Vehicle Description: The vehicle appears to be a silver/gray 2006 or newer Toyota Corolla with a sunroof. The vehicle appears to have had panels replaced on the right front side and lower bumper that are black in color. There also appears to be a decal or damage along the right side of the vehicle behind the replaced panel.
