San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a suspect responsible for an attempted robbery in San Marcos.

On May 4 around 8:00 a.m., a woman was trying to withdraw money from the Wells Fargo Bank ATM located in the 1000 block of West San Marcos Boulevard.  During the transaction, a man approached the woman, demanded money and pointed a concealed beverage bottle he had on the right side of his jacket.  The manner in which the bottle was concealed made it appear like it was a weapon.

The woman feared for her life and drove away from the robbery attempt.

Surveillance video captured images of the suspect.

Suspect’s Description:

The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic man between 20 and 25-years-old.  He stands between 5’9” and 5’11” tall and weighs between 150 and 160 pounds.  The suspect was wearing a black cap with an orange “SF” logo, a black hooded jacket with a “True Religion” logo on the back, blue jeans, white Nike Air Force One sneakers and a black “MCM” backpack.
