San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the Metro Arson Strike Team (MAST) are asking assistance from the public to help identify and locate the suspect(s) who is responsible for intentionally setting several fires, which took place in the North Park area of San Diego.

On August 2, 2021, between 1:00 a.m. and 1:20 a.m., an unknown suspect intentionally set four separate fires in the North Park area of San Diego. The suspect lit two different parked vehicles on fire along the 3600 block of Villa Terrace, a trash can and fence along the 3800 block of Pershing Avenue, a parked vehicle on the 2800 block of Capps Street, and an exterior wall of a building in the 3700 block of 31st Street. The total damage caused by the fires is estimated at approximately $50,000.

Investigators are still trying to determine if more than one suspect is responsible for setting these fires.

Suspect’s Description:

The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male, in his 30’s to 40’s, thin to average build, short hair, wearing a backpack, t-shirt, pants, adidas shoes, and riding a bicycle. The bicycle appears to be a dark-colored beach cruiser with a light-colored seat, a front basket, and a cup/cell phone holder near the right-side handlebar.
