Unsolved Murder of Gai Wal

 San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit are asking for assistance from the public to help identify and locate two vehicles and two persons of interest in a homicide. 

On December 23, 2020 at about 5:51 p.m., San Diego Police Officers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of the Bars Up Barber Shop, located at 6281 Imperial Avenue. Officers found 24-year-old Gai Wal who had been shot, lying on the ground. Wal was transported to a local hospital but did not survive his injuries. 

Investigators reviewed security video from the area and identified several vehicles and people in the area at the time of the shooting. Investigators are hoping to locate the green truck, red sedan, and two people depicted below. The truck appears to be a green extended cab GMC or Chevrolet with grey five spoke wheels and a missing passenger door handle. There is also a small dent in the area of the missing door handle. The car is a red sedan.
