Wanted Homicide Suspect: German Armando Luna Salazar

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit are asking for the public’s help in locating 44-year-old German Armando Luna Salazar who is the wanted suspect in the murder of 32-year-old Leyva Elizabeth Oregel-Garcia.

On July 4, 2023, at approximately 12:24 a.m., the San Diego Police Communications Center received a call from a citizen reporting what appeared to be a body inside of a vehicle parked in a lot in the 4400 block of Camino De La Plaza in the San Ysidro Neighborhood of San Diego. Officers from Southern Division were immediately dispatched and arrived within minutes. Upon arriving, they located a female that was obviously deceased in a parked vehicle. Due to unusual circumstances surrounding the death of the female and in an abundance of caution, San Diego Police Homicide Detectives were called to the scene to investigate.

The female has been identified as Leyva Elizabeth Oregel-Garcia of Guadalupe, CA. She is described as a 32-year-old Hispanic female. Detectives have learned this case appears to be a tragic case of Domestic Violence in which Oregel-Garcia’s husband, German Armando Luna Salazar has been identified as the suspect. Salazar is described as a 44-year-old Hispanic male. He was last seen leaving the area of 4400 Camino De La Plaza on foot and possibly entered Mexico.
