Suspects Wanted for Starlight Theatre Burglary

UP TO $1000 Reward

San Diego County Crime Stoppers along with investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Central Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating unknown suspects responsible for a burglary that occurred at the Starlight Theatre in Balboa Park. 

On October 19, 2019, between 10:45 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., approximately 40 vehicles arrived at a parking lot next to the Starlight Theater (2005 Pan American Plaza, San Diego), located inside Balboa Park. The occupants of the vehicles appeared to be attending an organized meet-up and were seen leaving their vehicles and walking towards the theatre. Suspects within this group damaged a portion of a chain link fence on the exterior of the theatre and then used an unknown tool to force open the doors leading to the ticket office. The suspects stole various electronic audio and visual equipment, several flat screen televisions, and several guitars. The total amount of stolen items is estimated at $28,000. The estimated damage to the theatre is still being determined. 

Investigators were able to locate surveillance video that shows a large group gathering in the parking lot. The surveillance video also showed a white, early to mid 2000’s, Jeep Liberty arrive in the parking lot after the large crowd had left. The occupants of the Jeep can be seen changing their clothes outside of the Jeep and near a dark colored compact sedan with a luggage rack (possibly a Subaru Crosstrek). An anonymous person submitted cellphone video to investigators showing several males standing near a Ford Expedition just outside of the theatre talking about having a TV for sale. 

Investigators are continuing to check for additional surveillance video from nearby buildings.

Suspect Wanted for Two Commercial Armed Robberies

San Diego County Crime Stoppers along with investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Robbery Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating an unknown suspect responsible for two commercial armed robberies. Investigators believe the same suspect is responsible for both robberies. 

On September 15, 2019, at 3:05 a.m., an unknown male suspect entered the Subway restaurant located at 3308 University Avenue, in San Diego. The suspect jumped over the counter and pointed a black revolver at the employee while he demanded money. The employee complied and opened the cash register. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen running westbound on University Avenue. 

On September 18, 2019, at 6:55 a.m., an unknown male suspect entered the Subway restaurant located at 1722 Euclid Avenue, in San Diego. The suspect pointed a black revolver at an employee and demanded money. The suspect told the employee to “hurry up” in Spanish. The suspect spoke English during the initial demand. The employee complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was last seen running southbound away from the business. 

Suspects’ Description: 

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, mid 20’s, 5’6” to 5’8” tall, thin build and shaved head. In the 9/15/2019 case, the suspect was wearing a black mask, black gloves, black hooded sweatshirt with white stripes along the arms, dark pants, black tennis shoes, and was carrying a black revolver. 

In the 9/18/2019 case, the suspect was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with a grey colored chest and grey hoodie, blue shorts, black shoes, black mask, black gloves, and was carrying a black revolver. The suspect has a tattoo on the inside of his right wrist.

Suspect Wanted for Vehicle Burglaries

San Diego County Crime Stoppers along with investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Eastern Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating an unknown suspect wanted for multiple vehicle burglaries, which occurred in the Mission Valley area. 

On August 16, 2019, between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., three separate vehicles were burglarized in a parking garage located at 2220 Camino de la Reina, in San Diego. The suspect was seen on surveillance video using a flashlight to look into several vehicles inside the parking garage. The suspect broke into the vehicles by shattering their glass windows and stole miscellaneous items. 

Suspect’s Description: 

The suspect is described as a White male, medium build, wearing dark colored framed glasses, a black t-shirt with a white image on the front, blue jeans, and black and white colored tennis shoes. The suspect was also wearing a backpack.

On July 16, 2019, at approximately 4:09 a.m., four unknown suspects forced entry into the Pack and Bianes Vision Care Optometry located at 374 East H Street Suite 1708, in Chula Vista. The suspects stole over $100,000 worth of eye glasses. The burglary was captured by the optometry’s surveillance system.

Suspects Wanted for Credit Card Fraud

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the North Coastal Sheriff's Station are asking for assistance from the public to help identify and locate two unknown suspects who are responsible for credit card fraud. 

On March 25th between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., an unknown subject stole the victim’s wallet containing multiple business and personal credit cards and identification cards while she was at the Home Goods store in Encinitas. The victim’s credit cards were used at various Encinitas stores during those same hours. Total loss was $470 in personal items and nearly $6,100 in fraudulent purchases. 

Suspect’s Description: 

Suspect #1 is described as a White or Hispanic woman between 25-35 years old. She has long dark hair and was last seen wearing a black/white baseball cap, gray Calvin Klein hoodie, black leggings, white socks and black sneakers.

Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspects involved in a construction trailer burglary. 

On April 17, 2019, at approximately 2:21 a.m., two unknown male suspects forced entry into a construction trailer that was located at 600 East Palomar Street, in Chula Vista. The suspects stole approximately $18,000 worth of tools including a generator, ground compactor, and a hydrostatic pump. 

Investigators believe the suspects were driving a stolen 2000 maroon colored Chevrolet full-size pickup truck with a California license plate of 7D70263. The vehicle has an aftermarket grille guard and push bumper installed on its front bumper.

Suspect # 1 is described as a Hispanic male, 20 to 30-years-old, thin build, short dark hair, earring in right ear, and unknown tattoos on both biceps. 

Suspect # 2 is described as a Hispanic male, 20 to 30-years-old, heavyset, short dark hair, thick rimmed glasses, mustache, goatee, wearing a thick gold chain over his t-shirt.

Joe Weyapuk is wanted by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for failing to comply with the terms and conditions of his parole.  Weyapuk is currently on parole for burglary.  Weyapuk has previous convictions for burglary, possession of narcotics, and multiple parole violations.  Weyapuk is known to frequent the City of El Cajon and in particular the intersection of Jamacha Road and Main Street.

Suspects Wanted for Commercial Armed Robberies

 San Diego County Crime Stoppers along with investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Robbery Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating two unknown suspects wanted for two separate commercial armed robberies of jewelry stores in San Diego. 

On December 5, 2018, at 7:02 p.m., two male suspects robbed the Jared’s Jewelry store located at 1025 Camino De La Reina, in San Diego. On January 12, 2019, at 6:23 p.m., investigators believe the same two suspects robbed the Jared’s Jewelry store located at 11998 Carmel Mountain Road, in San Diego. 

In both cases, both suspects ran into the stores. Suspect # 1 (S-1) and Suspect # 2 (S-2) each pointed a handgun at customers and employees inside the stores. S-1 told them not to move, while S-2 looked at the jewelry inside the display cases. S-1 used a hammer or crowbar to break the display cases. S-2 then grabbed various jewelry from inside the display cases and put it inside a duffle bag. Both suspects fled the stores on foot in an unknown direction.

S-1 is described as a Black male, 20’s to early 30’s, 5’8” tall, 145 lbs., wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head, black bandana covering his face, gloves, black tennis shoes with white soles, armed with a black handgun and crowbar. 

S-2 is described as a Black male, 20’s to early 30’s, medium height and weight, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white trim and the hood over his head, black bandana covering his face, white gloves, blue tennis shoes with white soles and carried a dark colored duffle bag.

On Saturday October 20, 2018, at 9:00 p.m., the Motel 6, located at 7621 Alvarado Road in La Mesa, was robbed. The pictured male is a suspect in this case. He is described as a Black male, 18 to 25–years-old, approximately 5’7”tall and weighing 175 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black Polo brand shirt with a large white logo and blue jeans.

Wanted: Suspect for Burglaries and Theft in the City of Vista

San Diego County Crime Stoppersand investigators from the San Diego Sheriff’s Department’s Vista Station are asking for the public's help to locate an unknown suspect wanted in connection with a series of thefts, attempted burglaries, and burglaries that have occurred in Vista. 

Between October 25 and November 20 of 2018, the same unknown suspect broke into, or attempted to break into, five local businesses in Vista. The suspect stole a total of about $1500 in cash, a $350 iPad, and a carved tiki stump valued at about $60.00. The suspect caused approximately $2,000 in damages to the businesses. 

List of the businesses targeted:

·     On 10/25/18 the suspect entered the Tabacinic Chabad Jewish Center, located at 1930 Sunset Drive, Vista, by removing a screen from the exterior window. The suspect stole cash and an iPad Touch.  

·     On 10/28/18 at 12:00 p.m., the suspect broke into and stole about $500 in cash from the Coke machines at Get Air, located at 2755 Dos Aarons Way, Vista.

·     On 10/30/18 at about 9:00 a.m., the suspect attempted to break into the Tiki Mobile Village, located at 1333 Olive Ave in Vista, by removing the bathroom window screen and two window panels next to the main office building.  The suspect also cut and removed the electrical cables to the security camera and Wi-Fi transmitter.  

·     On 11/1/18 at about midnight, the suspect forced entry into Maximum Recycling, located at 430 Olive Ave, Vista and stole approximately $1175 worth of change. 

·     On 11/05/18 at 1:10 p.m., the suspect stole an empty bank bag from Wholesale Sports Inc, located at 2755 Dos Aarons Way, Vista

·     Sometime between the 6:00 p.m. on 11/5/18 and 9:00 a.m. on 11/6/18, the suspect returned to Wholesale Sports Inc and Get Air and damaged the front doors.  

·     On 11/20/18 the suspect went back to the Tiki Mobile Village and forced the door to a utility room open and stole a wood carved tiki stump valued at about $60.00

Suspect Descriptions:

Suspect #1: 

The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male adult, standing approximately 5'8"-5'11" tall, with a thin build. He has a distinct tattoo on his left forearm. The suspect usually wears glasses and a flat billed ball cap.

The suspect used the same modus operandi in many of the cases. The suspect takes a tool and tries to pry open the front door of businesses or vending machines and then burglarizes the businesses or takes money from the vending machines.

On Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 4:00 a.m., and Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 3:52 a.m., an unknown suspect robbed the Chevron gas station located at 3502 National Avenue, in San Diego. In both incidents, the suspect pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded they open the cash register. The suspect stole cash from the register and several packs of cigarettes in both cases. The suspect was last seen fleeing the business on foot in a northbound direction. Investigators believe the same suspect is responsible for both robberies. 

Suspect’s Description: 

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 35 to 40-years-old, 5’6” to 5’9” tall, 170 to 180 lbs., has a light complexion with acne on his face. During the June 2nd robbery, the suspect was wearing blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt. During the November 3rd robbery, the suspect was wearing blue jeans, a blue and white plaid colored long-sleeved shirt, blue bandana covering his face, and a black baseball cap.

Anthony Dupone is wanted by the California Department of Corrections and rehabilitation for failing to comply with the terms and conditions of his parole (no bail felony warrant).  Dupone is currently on parole due to a conviction for assault with a deadly weapon.  Dupone has previous convictions for assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, vandalism, check fraud, narcotics possession, burglary, auto theft, and multiple parole violations.  Dupone is known to frequent the North County area including Vista and Encinitas.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Western Division are asking for assistance from the public to help identify and locate the suspects responsible for a robbery at the Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego. 

On August 11, 2018, at 5:24 p.m., two unknown male suspects robbed a 27-year-old male of his iPhone as he walked near the Forever 21 store. One of the suspects (S-1) approached the victim and asked to use his phone. S-1 then grabbed the phone and ran away with another suspect (S-2). The victim chased both suspects into a nearby parking lot. S-2 displayed a firearm in his waistband and told the victim that “he did not want any of this.” The victim fearing he would be shot, stopped chasing both suspects and they were last seen running towards Friars Road. 

San Diego Police Officers responded to the area but were unable to find either suspect. Officers did recover an airsoft pistol, which was believed to have been used by S-2.

Suspects’ Description: Suspect # 1 (S-1) is described as Hispanic male, approximately 16-years-old, 5’8” to 5’9” tall, thin build, wearing a navy colored short-sleeved shirt and black shorts. 

Suspect # 2 (S-2) is described as a Hispanic male, mid to late teens, 5’7” to 5’8” tall, thin build, hair placed in a bun, wearing a red short-sleeved t-shirt with tan pants.

Suspects Wanted for Residential Burglary

Up to $1,000 Reward Offered

San Diego County Crime Stoppers along with investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Northern Division are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating unknown suspects who burglarized a residence in the Mount Soledad area of San Diego. 

On June 16, 2018, unknown suspects forced entry into a residence in the Mount Soledad area by using a tool to pry open the front door. The suspects stole numerous pieces of jewelry with a total value of over $250,000. Most of the jewelry pieces were large in size and very distinctive. Surveillance video captured the suspects’ vehicle arriving at the residence and a suspect wearing dark clothing exiting the front passenger’s seat. Investigators determined the suspects’ vehicle is a newer model white Nissan Rogue.

Kendal Kabande is wanted by the San Diego Fugitive Task Force for an outstanding felony warrant (no bail) for his arrest.  The warrant is for assault with a deadly weapon, auto theft, and felony evading.  Kabande has previous convictions for assault with a deadly weapon, auto theft, and felony evading.  Kabande is not known to frequent any particular area and may be anywhere in San Diego County

Commercial Robbery & Burglary Series

Up to $1000 Reward

San Diego County Crime Stoppers, along with investigators from the Carlsbad and Escondido Police Departments, are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating several unknown suspects who have committed a series of grab and runs at Apple stores. 

Since January 2018, the Carlsbad and Escondido Apple stores have been targeted in a series of grab and runs. During these incidents, a group of suspects typically enter the store wearing hooded sweatshirts or jackets, with the hood portion tied closely to their heads, which conceals most of their faces. The suspects grab multiple Apple devices on the display tables and exit the store where a getaway car is usually waiting for them. 

In several of the incidents, citizens have attempted to stop the suspects and have been injured by the suspects as they flee the store. Investigators believe this series is related to similar cases throughout California. To date, the losses throughout the state have exceeded approximately $750,000. 

Suspect’s Description: 

The suspects are described as Black males, in the early 20’s, and wear hooded sweatshirts or jackets with the hood portion tied closely to their heads. There may also be an unknown female suspect involved in this series.
