Unknown Suspect Wanted for Felony Hit and Run

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the driver responsible for a felony hit and run collision that occurred in the Linda Vista area of San Diego. 

On October 12, 2019, at 10:50 p.m., the victims were inside a white sedan and were stopped at a stop sign on Goshen Street (intersection with Linda Vista Road). The suspect vehicle was traveling eastbound on Linda Vista Road and made a right turn onto Goshen Street at a high rate of speed, causing the driver to lose control and broadside the victim’s vehicle. The force of the collision caused the victim’s vehicle to strike a fire hydrant near the intersection. The suspect did not stop to check on the victims or exchange information and was last seen driving away eastbound on Linda Vista Road. 

The victim’s vehicle was occupied by two males and one female who are all in their 20’s. All three victims suffered various injuries including concussions.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a black colored Honda sedan with front end damage.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the driver who struck and severely injured a 64-year-old male pedestrian in the Ocean Beach area of San Diego. 

On September 6, 2019, at approximately 10:00 p.m., an adult male was walking his bicycle northbound in the bicycle lane of the 4000 block of Nimitz Boulevard, in San Diego. An unknown suspect, who was driving a newer model Nissan Versa Note (hatchback), made an unsafe movement to the right and struck the male victim. The suspect did not stop to check on the victim or leave any contact information and fled the scene immediately. 

The victim sustained multiple injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The victim’s injuries include fractures to his pelvis, multiple ribs, fibula, and foot. The victim also suffered multiple lacerations to his body and injuries to his bladder and liver. The victim is expected to survive his injuries, but remains hospitalized. 

Investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit responded to the scene. Based on their investigation, they believe the suspect’s vehicle is a 2015-2018 Nissan Versa Note (hatchback), white in color, without a sunroof. The vehicle should have damage to the passenger side front headlight, fender, and side view mirror. Investigators are also asking if any collision damage repair shops did work recently to the described vehicle to please contact them.

Wanted: Suspect in Fatal Hit and Run in San Marcos

Up to $1,000 Reward Offered 

 San Diego County Crime Stoppers along with investigators from the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station Traffic Unit are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in a fatal hit and run. 

On April 15th at about 8:20 p.m., a 60-year-old woman who was walking her dog was struck by a vehicle in the 300 block of Smilax Road in the City of San Marcos. The woman sustained major injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital where she died the following day. Based on evidence left at the scene, the suspect vehicle is a white Ford Econoline series E-150, E-250 or E-350 van and should have damage to the front bumper and grille.

Unknown Suspect Wanted for Fatal Hit and Run

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from California Highway Patrol are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the driver that struck a woman on State Route 94 

On July 8, 2018, at approximately 10:00 p.m., a Black female was struck in the westbound lanes of SR-94, east of 28th Street, within the San Diego city limits. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 2004-2008 dark grey or blue Toyota 4Runner was seen fleeing the scene after the collision. 

The Toyota 4Runner should have moderate damage to the front right side of the vehicle, along with right front quarter panel, front grill, right headlamp and right fog lamp. The 4Runner is also missing the Toyota emblem from the front grill.

Unknown Suspect Wanted for Felony Hit and Run

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the driver that struck a parked vehicle in the Lincoln Park area of San Diego, causing major injuries to one of suspect’s passengers.  

On May 27, 2018, at approximately 4:50 a.m., an unidentified adult female was driving a gray 2010 Mazda 3 southbound on the 500 block of S. 47th Street, in San Diego. The female made a move to the right and struck an unoccupied parked SUV. The collision caused a 79-year-old male passenger, who was sitting unrestrained in the back seat of the Mazda, to be thrown forward striking the front passenger’s seat. A 39-year-old male passenger who was sitting in the front passenger’s seat suffered minor injuries.

The female driver got out of the Mazda and walked away from the scene before police arrived.  Medics transported the 79-year-old male to a local hospital for multiple major head and neck injuries. This male is not expected to survive his injuries.   

Suspect’s Description:

The suspect is described as a Black female, in her 50’s, wearing a long sleeve purple colored shirt, gray jeans with multiple rips in them, black socks and no shoes.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the driver that struck a pedestrian in the Ocean Beach area of San Diego. 

On April 9, 2018, at six minutes after midnight, a 26-year-old good samaritan (victim) stopped to assist a disabled motorist who was parked along the west curb line of the 2900 block of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard near Robb Field. While the victim was standing next to the disabled vehicle, an unknown suspect driving southbound on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard struck the victim and the disabled vehicle. The suspect continued driving southbound and fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital and sustained a fractured lower right leg and other internal injuries. The victim is now recovering at home.

The suspect vehicle is described as a green 1998 or 1999 Subaru Outback Legacy wagon. The suspect vehicle will have right front end damage, including a damaged grill, fog lamp and right side mirror.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division continue to ask for the public’s help in identifying and locating the driver that struck and killed a pedestrian in the Mission Hills area of San Diego.  

On March 22, 2018, at approximately 12:22 a.m., a 57-year-old male was struck by a vehicle while he was crossing the 1300 block of W. Washington Avenue in the Mission Hills neighborhood of San Diego. After the collision, the vehicle fled the scene east on W. Washington Avenue. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit responded to the scene.  Based on their investigation, they believe the suspect’s vehicle is a 2001–2002 Hyundai Sonata with likely damage to the front of the vehicle including its headlamps and or windshield.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and   locating the driver that struck a pedestrian in the Mountain View area of San Diego.

On December 15, 2017, at about 8:24 p.m., a dark colored vehicle was traveling westbound on the 3700 block of Ocean View Blvd.  The vehicle struck a 33-year-old male pedestrian as he was walking northbound across the street near the intersection of Ocean View Blvd. and Milbrae Street.  The vehicle immediately fled the scene and was last seen traveling westbound on Ocean View Blvd.   

The pedestrian suffered a severe brain injury and remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a dark colored 2008-2010 Scion TC.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the driver that struck a pedestrian in the East Village area of San Diego.

On Saturday, November 4, 2017 at about 3:55 a.m., a 47-year-old female, who was in a wheelchair, was in the intersection of F Street at Park Boulevard when she was struck by a silver, newer model, SUV.  The SUV was travelling westbound on F St when it ran over the female and her wheelchair.  The driver of the vehicle stopped momentarily before driving off westbound on F St. The driver turned northbound on 11th St and was last seen driving eastbound on E St.  The victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

 Suspect’s Vehicle Description: The hit and run vehicle is described as a newer silver SUV with a tinted sunroof and possibly tinted windows. It also had chrome rims. The SUV had its fog lights and headlights activated and may have front end and undercarriage damage.

Unknown Suspect Wanted for Vehicular Manslaughter and Felony Hit and Run

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the driver wanted for vehicular manslaughter and felony hit and run in the East Village area of downtown San Diego.  

On October 2, 2017, at about 7:10 a.m., a red, newer model, Ford Escape was stopped in the northbound lane in front of 500 15th Street in San Diego when a 46-year-old female and her male companion walked to the front passenger side of the vehicle. As a conversation took place between the female and the driver, the female reached into the vehicle. For unknown reasons, the driver accelerated, dragging the female about 15 feet before she fell from the vehicle and landed on her head.  The suspect fled northbound on 15th Street. The female victim was transported to a local hospital where she died one day later (10-3-17) from a head injury. 

Suspect’s Description: 

The driver of the vehicle is described as a White male, in his 60’s, with white hair and a white trimmed full beard.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a red, newer model, Ford Escape. It has a California license plate that is similar to 7WGO798. Note: That is not the correct license plate but it could be something close to that.

On August 19, 2017, at approximately 8:00 p.m., an adult male pedestrian was walking southbound across the 8200 block of New Salem Street, in San Diego. A black colored 2-door vehicle was driving eastbound on New Salem Street, failed to yield to the pedestrian, and struck him. Immediately after striking the pedestrian, the driver fled the scene and was last seen driving southbound on Camino Ruiz.   

The victim suffered fractures to his skull, pelvis and left leg. The victim is still recovering from his injuries and is in a rehabilitation facility. 

Suspect’s Vehicle Description: 

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a “domestic” black colored 2-door vehicle. The vehicle may have minor front end damage. There is no description of the driver.

Unknown Suspect Wanted for Felony Hit and Run

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the driver that struck a pedestrian in the Claremont area of San Diego. 

On April 30, 2017, at approximately 8:00 p.m., a 37-year-old woman was struck by a black Honda Civic, while legally crossing the intersection of 5200 Mt. Edna Drive and 4200 Genesee Avenue. The driver momentarily stopped his black Honda Civic along the west curb line, 4200 Genesee Avenue, facing south. He approached the victim and witnesses, but then got back inside his car, and drove away southbound on Genesee Avenue.  The victim suffered serious injuries.  

The hit and run driver was described as a White male, with blue eyes and short blond hair. He was described as being in his 40s to 50s, standing about 5’9” tall, and weighing between 180 to 200 lbs. He was last seen wearing a blue or gray T-shirt, with an emblem on his left chest, cargo shorts with a green stripe, and tennis shoes.

Pacific Beach Felony Hit and Run

Up to $1,000 Reward Offered  

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the person responsible for colliding with a motorcyclist and then fleeing the scene in the Pacific Beach area. 

On May 20, 2017, at 2:15 p.m., the driver of a silver colored Jeep Grand Cherokee was stopped in traffic along the northbound # 1 lane of 4500 Mission Bay Drive.  The driver of the Jeep made an illegal U-turn into the southbound lanes.  A motorcyclist was traveling southbound in the # 1 lane of 4500 Mission Bay Drive and struck the rear end of the Jeep.  The motorcyclist was immediately ejected into the air upon impact and landed in the roadway with a severe leg injury.  The driver of the Jeep did stop, ran towards the victim, and then immediately turned around and got back into the Jeep.  The driver fled the scene and was last seen getting onto southbound Interstate 5.

The motorcyclist suffered fractured bones in his right leg and remains hospitalized pending a second surgery.

Suspect and Vehicle Description: 

The suspect is described as an unknown race male wearing a blue shirt.  The suspect’s vehicle is described as a possible 2014 or newer silver colored Jeep Grand Cherokee with a possible rear yellow paper plate or out of state plate.  The Jeep sustained moderate rear end damage including a shattered rear windshield.

Unknown Suspects Wanted for Felony Hit and Run

Up to $1,000 Reward Offered 

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the driver that struck and killed a pedestrian in San Carlos. 

On November 26, 2016, at about 5:45 a.m., a man was walking north, across Blue Lake Drive, along Jackson Drive, using the unmarked crosswalk in the San Carlos neighborhood when he was struck by a vehicle.  The suspect vehicle was traveling south on Jackson Drive and made a left turn onto Blue Lake Drive.  The pedestrian died as a result of the injuries that he suffered at the collision scene.

Traffic detectives are looking for an unknown motor vehicle that sustained a damaged front bumper, mostly on the left side.

Suspect Carlos Catalan Wanted For Fatal Hit and Run 2007

Days after a fatal car crash left two teenagers dead in San Diego, Calif., police identified the driver of the other car in the incident. At around 2 am on August 3, 2007, police believe that a Toyota Tacoma driven by 19-year-old Carlos Catalan bumped into a BMW at close to 90 mph. The driver of the BMW lost control and hit a light pole. Joshua Spears, 18, and Ryan Zelman, 19, both died in the crash while a third person was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

Witnesses told police that the Tacoma stopped briefly following the crash, then left the scene. In the days after the deadly hit-and-run, San Diego cops were able to locate Catalan’s vehicle, but there has been no sign of Catalan himself. Catalan has now been charged with two counts of felony hit and run and two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter.
