December 2006 Murder of Ronald Harnish Remains Unsolved Up to $53,000 Reward Offered

San Diego County Crime Stoppers, working with the San Diego Police Department’s Cold Case Unit and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, are continuing to ask for the public’s assistance to help identify and locate the person responsible for the murder of Ronald Harnish.
On the night of December 27, 2006, Ronald Harnish and his friends were driving in the 1100 block of 30th Street, in San Diego. They stopped, exited the car, and got into a confrontation with two Hispanic males who were standing on the sidewalk. One of the Hispanic males fired shots at the victims. Ronald Harnish was shot and killed at the scene. A second victim was shot but survived.
There is a reward of $53,000 for information on the case. Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward, Ronald Harnish’s friends and family are offering a reward of $2,000 and the Governor’s Office is offering a reward of $50,000. Crime Stoppers’ reward and the friends and family reward are paid on information leading to an arrest. The Governor’s Office reward is paid on an arrest and conviction in this case.
