DZ Akins Restaurant Burglary

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Eastern Division are asking for the public’s assistance to help identify and locate the suspects responsible for a commercial burglary that occurred at the DZ Akins Restaurant in San Diego.

On July 1, 2021, at about 4:47a.m., three unknown suspects forced entry into the DZ Akins restaurant located at 6930 Alvarado Road, in San Diego. The suspects used a crowbar to force open the front door of the restaurant. Once inside, the suspects stole a safe and used a dolly to move the safe to their vehicle. The safe contained an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects were last seen driving eastbound on 6900 Alvarado Road.

Suspects’ Description: Suspect # 1 is described as a male, medium height and weight, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt (with hood over his head), blue jeans, and a dark gray mask over his face. Suspect # 2 is described as a male, tall with a heavy build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark beanie, dark pants, and had pink gloves and a pink mask over his face. Suspect# 3 is described as a male, medium height and build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt (with the hood over his head), dark pants, and a dark colored mask over his face. The suspects’ vehicle is described as a light gray or silver SUV, possibly a 2009-2012 model Ford Escape with chrome six spokes style wheels.

Anyone with information on the identity and or location of the suspects is asked to call the San Diego Police Department’s Eastern Division at (858) 495-7955 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
