Shelltown Area Homicide

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect responsible for the murder of 49-year-old Ricardo Moran. 

On October 5, 2019, at approximately 1:35 a.m., San Diego Police Officers responded to a report of gunshots heard in the area of the 1800 block of S. 42nd Street, in the Shelltown area of San Diego. When officers arrived at the scene, they found two adult male victims on the sidewalk, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local hospital. One of the victims suffered serious injuries, but is expected to survive. The other victim, later identified as Ricardo Moran, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. 

San Diego Police Homicide Detectives were called to the scene and began investigating the incident. Witnesses reported hearing a vehicle speed away from the scene shortly after hearing the gunshots, however no vehicle description was provided. There is no suspect(s) description at this time.
