Suspect Wanted for Attempt Homicide

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Southeastern Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect responsible for an attempt homicide that occurred in the Emerald Hills area of San Diego. 

On July 11, 2020, at about 1:50 p.m., a 23-year-old male victim was at Emerald Hills Park, located at 5661 Bethune Court, in San Diego. An unknown male suspect attempted to grab the victim’s cell phone from a table in the park. A fight ensued between the victim and the suspect. The suspect displayed a box cutter and told the victim “I am going to kill you.” The suspect stabbed the victim’s left arm with the box cutter and also strangled the victim. 

The suspect left the area on foot and was last seen walking into a canyon near Kelton Road and State Route 94. The victim was transported to a local hospital and was treated for a laceration to his left arm requiring 18 staples. 

Suspect’s Description: 

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 40-years-old, 6’ tall, 170 lbs., thin mustache and goatee, and had “Jaundice” or a yellowing condition to the white portion of his eyes. The suspect was wearing a bright orange flat brim snapback style hat with a white colored “C” on the front, an oversized navy hooded sweatshirt, dark sweatpants, and a gray backpack with zebra stripes.
