Suspect Wanted for Fatal Hit and Run

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the vehicle and driver that fled the scene of a traffic collision resulting in the death of a 58-year-old victim in the North Park area of San Diego. 

On September 7, 2021, at approximately midnight, an unknown light-colored vehicle was driving southbound on Mississippi Street and stopped at the intersection of Mississippi Street and University Avenue. A 58-year-old male was walking eastbound across University Avenue and was struck by the unknown vehicle in the intersection. The unknown vehicle continued driving southbound on Mississippi Street. The driver failed to stop and render aid to the victim or call 911. The victim sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The victim succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital. 

Suspect’s Vehicle Info: 

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a light colored 2 or 4 door vehicle with large chrome wheels. The vehicle may have minor to moderate damage to its front bumper, hood, and windshield.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
