San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the vehicle and driver that fled the scene of a traffic collision leaving the victim with serious injuries in the Mid-City area of San Diego.

On March 7th, 2021, at about 3:00 p.m., a 47-year-old victim was putting his (7-yearold) child into the back seat of his 2017 Toyota Corolla. A silver Saturn Vue, heading westbound in the parking lot, swerved to the left and pinned the 47-year-old victim up against the rear door of the Corolla. The victim suffered severe lower extremity injuries.

The driver of the VUE stayed at the scene for approximately 10 seconds. When people began to walk towards the collision, the driver of the VUE backed up and accelerated westbound through the shopping center and exited onto Redwood Street. Surveillance video from a nearby business captured the Vue leaving the scene.

Vehicle Description: The suspect’s vehicle is described as a silver colored Saturn Vue. The vehicle sustained front end damage, specifically to the left turn signal and left bumper.
