One-Year Anniversary of the Unsolved Murder of 12-Year-Old Angel Gaspar

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect responsible for the murder of 12-year-old Angel Gaspar.

On November 25, 2021, at 9:37 p.m., San Diego Police Officers responded to an injured person call at 7426 Cahill Drive. Upon arrival, medics were already performing first aid on a 12-year old male later identified as Angel Gaspar. While medics were performing life-saving measures, it was determined Angel had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body. Angel was transported to UCSD Hospital but did not survive his injuries. San Diego Police Homicide Detectives were called to the location and are still investigating the incident.

Through this investigation, it was determined Angel sustained the gunshot wound while he was in the enclosed backyard of the residence. The bullet came from east of the location and went through the backyard fence before striking Angel. Angel was a completely innocent victim, fatally struck by a stray bullet.
