Suspect Wanted for Fatal Hit and Run in San Ysidro

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the vehicle and driver that fled the scene of a fatal traffic collision in the San Ysidro area of San Diego. 

On October 15, 2020, at 12:57 a.m., 45-year-old Isabel Sandoval was walking westbound in the marked crosswalk along the 200 block of East San Ysidro Boulevard. An unknown driver inside a silver colored SUV was exiting the Northbound Interstate 805 off ramp. As the SUV entered the intersection, the vehicle struck Sandoval as she was walking in the crosswalk. The suspect did not stop to render aid or call 911 and fled the scene immediately. The suspect’s vehicle was last seen driving westbound on East San Ysidro Boulevard. 

Sandoval suffered multiple injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a silver colored SUV.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
