FBI and Carlsbad Police Seek "Scarecrow Bandit"/CAPTURED

scarecrow 1 The FBI and Carlsbad Police  Department are seeking the public's assistance to identify the unknown male responsible for robbing the Chase Bank, located  at 7176 Avenida Encinas, Carlsbad, California, on Thursday, March 13, 2014.

On Thursday, March 13, 2014,  at approximately 6:10p.m., the Chase Bank, located at 7176 Avenida Encinas, Carlsbad, California, was robbed by an unknown male wearing a scarecrow type mask, described as a cloth material with eye holes cut out.

At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the bank and walked up to the victim teller's window and made a verbal demand for money.  Another employee in the bank suspecting something unusual was happening  approached the victim teller at which time the robber demanded money from this teller.  The robber ended up getting money from both tellers.  The robber was last seen running south bound on Avenida Encinas.  No weapon was observed and no injuries reported.

Witnesses describe the robber as follows:

Solana Beach US Bank Robber Still Sought; Suspect wore a pesticide mask/CAPTURED

The FBI and San Diego Sheriff’s Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown male responsible for robbing the U.S. Bank branch located inside the Vons grocery store at 931 Lomas Santa Fe Drive in Solana Beach, California, on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. SolanaBeachVons1

On Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the U.S. Bank branch located inside the Vons grocery store at 931 Lomas Santa Fe Drive in Solana Beach, California, was robbed by an unknown male.

At the time of the robbery, the robber approached the victim teller and made a verbal demand for money in specific denominations. Upon receiving a sum of money the unknown male exited the store in an unknown direction. No weapon was observed and no injuries reported.

Witnesses describe the robber as follows:

  • Sex: Male
  • Race: White
  • Height: Approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall
  • Weight: Approximately 170 lbs.
  • Clothing: Dark sunglasses, orange long-sleeved collarless shirt, light blue hard hat, and wearing a pesticide like mask

Carlsbad Bank Robbery Suspect Sought

The FBI and Carlsbad Police Department are seeking the public's assistance to identify the unknown male responsible for robbing the US Bank, located at 2520 El Camino Real , Carlsbad, California, on Wednesday, January 8, 2014.On Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at approximately 2:48 p.m., the US Bank, located at 2520 El Camino Real , Carlsbad, California, was robbed by an unknown male using a demand note.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money from the teller, the robber exited the bank. Witnesses describe the robber as follows:

The El Cajon Police Department, La Mesa Police Department San Diego Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public’s assistance to identify an unknown male believed to be responsible for four bank robberies. The latest robbery in this series occurred on Saturday, July 20, 2013.

On Saturday, July 20, 2013, at approximately 11:57 a.m., the Wells Fargo Bank located at 1235 Avocado Avenue, El Cajon, California, was robbed by an unknown male now dubbed the “Beer Gut Bandit.” At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the bank and paused at an island counter in the bank lobby. The robber then approached the victim teller and presented a demand note for cash. After receiving a sum of money, the robber exited the bank. No injuries were reported.

The “Beer Gut Bandit” is believed to be responsible for the following bank robberies:

FBI and Carlsbad Police Department Seek Public’s Assistance to Identify Silvergate Bank Robber

The FBI and Carlsbad Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown male responsible for robbing the Silvergate Bank, located at 5810 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, California, on Monday, June 17, 2013.

On Monday, June 17, 2013, at approximately 9:52 a.m., the Silvergate Bank, located at 5810 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, California, was robbed by an unknown male, armed with what appeared to be semi-automatic pistol.

At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the bank and ordered everyone to the ground while brandishing a black semi-automatic pistol. The robber ordered two tellers to place money inside of a black attaché case he was carrying. After receiving a sum of money the robber fled the bank and may have driven away in a vehicle parked a short distance away.

Witnesses describe the robber as follows:

FBI and SDPD Seek Chase Bank Attempted Robbery Suspect

chase attempt The FBI and San Diego Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown male who attempted to rob the Chase Bank, 10505 Tierrasanta Boulevard, San Diego, California, on Thursday, June 6, 2013. At the time of the attempted robbery, the robber entered the bank, approached a bank employee and presented a demand note for cash. The bank employee opened her drawer and showed the robber that she did not have any cash. The robber exited the bank and was last seen running away from the bank. No physical injuries were reported.

Authorities Seeking To Identify First Avenue Wells Fargo Bank Robber

wellsfargo bank robber june 8 2013 On Saturday, June 8, 2013, at approximately 1:09 p.m. the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 610 First Avenue, San Diego, California, was robbed by an unknown male. At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the bank, approached the victim teller and feigned to be interested in conducting other banking business. As the victim teller was attempting to respond to the robber’s question, the robber presented a demand note for cash. The robber made several verbal demands for cash and threatened to shoot the teller, if he did not get any money.

Throughout the robbery, the robber held a cell phone to his right ear giving the appearance that he was talking to someone on the phone. After receiving a sum of money the robber fled the bank and was last seen northbound on First Avenue.

Unknown Suspect Wanted for Bank Robbery Series

 i have a bomb bandit San Diego County Crime Stoppers, working with investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Robbery Unit and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, are asking for assistance from the public to help Identify and locate an unknown suspect wanted in connection with a bank robbery series.

Detectives believe the three robberies listed below are all related and committed by the same suspect.  In all three cases, the male suspect used a demand note asking for money. In case #3, the suspect was seen getting into the passenger side of a vehicle and leaving the scene.  See suspect and vehicle description below: 

Case #1:  May 29, 2013 (Wednesday), approximately 9:25 a.m., California Coast Credit Union, 4265 Genesee Ave., San Diego, CA.

Case #2:  May 29, 2013 (Wednesday), approximately 9:46 a.m., Mission Federal Credit Union, 269 West Washington, San Diego, CA.

Case #3:  May 30, 2013 (Thursday), approximately 4:55 p.m., Mission Federal Credit Union, 4205 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., San Diego, CA.

Suspect Description: Possibly a Hispanic, Asian, or Indian adult male. 30-40 years old, 5’4”-5’9” tall, thick build, black hair worn in a ponytail. See attached pictures.

Suspect Vehicle: Red small 2-door sedan, possibly a Toyota or Honda. See attached picture.

Public Assistance Needed To Identify Wells Fargo Bank Robber/CAPTURED

            On Thursday, May 30, 2013, at approximately 3:05 p.m. the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 10535 Craftsman Way, San Diego, California, was robbed by an unknown male.  At the time of the robbery, the unknown male entered the bank and pushed a bank employee out of the way who was in the middle of conducting a transaction.  The unknown male made a verbal demand of money from the victim teller.  The robber threatened to harm the teller and others if he did not receive any money.  After receiving a sum of money the robber exited the bank.
